PlayGreen

PlayGreen is an educational mixed reality experience that combines game mechanics with collaborative interaction to teach the principles of sustainable energy. Through a playful approach, users are challenged to transform a polluted environment into a sustainable energy system, promoting learning through action and decision-making.

My role in the project

In this project, I worked on defining the experience and interaction mechanics: - I defined the experience logic and system rules - I designed the collaborative dynamics between users - I structured how content is presented - I worked on the connection between learning and interaction

Overview

PlayGreen is an interactive experience that uses game mechanics to communicate concepts related to sustainable energy and environmental impact. Through a collaborative dynamic, users take on different roles and work together to transform an energy system based on fossil fuels into a sustainable alternative, using sources such as solar, wind, or hydropower.

Problem

PlayGreen is an interactive experience that uses game mechanics to communicate concepts related to sustainable energy and environmental impact. Through a collaborative dynamic, users take on different roles and work together to transform an energy system based on fossil fuels into a sustainable alternative, using sources such as solar, wind, or hydropower.

Challenge

Explaining concepts related to energy and sustainability can be complex and not very engaging when presented in a traditional way. The challenge was to create an experience that made these topics accessible and interesting, promoting users' active participation and encouraging understanding through interaction.

Process

The project began by defining the concept and the game's core mechanics.

From there, the experience was structured by defining the different user roles, the game's objectives, and how the information would be presented. The focus was on creating an experience balanced between an educational component and user engagement.

Impact & Learnings

This project demonstrated how the combination of gaming and technology can be an effective tool for communicating complex topics. It also reinforced the importance of balancing educational content with user engagement, ensuring that the experience remains interesting while conveying knowledge.
